Don’t be a statistic…

I went with my wife to get a new phone yesterday. As you can imagine there is a story behind it.

Her phone is about 4 years old which is like 40 years in cell phone years. She dropped it the other day and it wouldn’t dial individual numbers anymore. If you hit “7” you got 759…or some other combination. It was this small problem that had her believing she needed a new phone. 🙂

When I got home I got out a screw driver and fixed the number pad and made the phone dial numbers correctly. She gave me a speech about how she still “needed” a new phone. About 20 minutes later, she just so happened to “accidentally” drop the phone on the kitchen floor and it nearly split in half. Now she really did need one! 😦

The point of my story is this…

When we were filling out the paperwork for the new phone Carrie asked the salesperson how many people forget to fill out the rebates and send them in. He said over 40%!! I imagine it’s the same in other industries as well.

Don’t be a statistic and fall for the “man’s” tricks!!

lemme get this straight – going to the Lucky store to buy jeans is ok but replacing a 4 year old broken phone for your wife who drives around with your son in the car is not??? :):)
