Glory of God

There is an interesting question inside of Christian circles whether we are able to see God and live.  In fact there are many stories in the Bible where you find yourself feeling like God is so powerful, glorious, unapproachable you wonder why people would even attempt that feat.  It didn’t work out so well for the German’s in Indian Jones, so what would happen if we saw God?  Many people probably remember Isaiah was pretty sure he was going to die and other people feel down like dead men just in the presence of His angels.

So my question is what would happen if you saw God?  Is it a myth that you would die?

The following verse is the centerpiece to my question and hypothesis:

Exodus 24:9-11  Moses and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and the seventy elders of Israel went up 10 and saw the God of Israel. Under his feet was something like a pavement made of sapphire, clear as the sky itself. But God did not raise his hand against these leaders of the Israelites; they saw God, and they ate and drank.

To Be Continued…

Wouldn’t that be God’s choice though? Maybe some can see Him and live because that is in His plan and He has a purpose for that – and maybe others die because that also is His plan.
