I realize that talking about sex in Christian circles is a little taboo. Most Christians aren’t really that comfortable with talking about sexual issues. It may be that they struggle with lust, that they feel unfulfilled or intimidated by the subject, or that they are not sure they are really suppose to be concerned about sex at all as a Christian. They may even have to spell it out “S-E-X,” just to start up the conversation.

I know most of time we talk about it you have to bring up Song of Solomon to go “there” and talk about S-E-X, but I read a rather provocative verse in Proverbs 5 the other morning.

What do you think (context is a father telling his son not to cheat on his wife)?

15 Drink water from your own cistern,
running water from your own well.

16 Should your springs overflow in the streets,
your streams of water in the public squares?

17 Let them be yours alone,
never to be shared with strangers.

18 May your fountain be blessed,
and may you rejoice in the wife of your youth.

19 A loving doe, a graceful deer—
may her breasts satisfy you always,
may you ever be captivated by her love.
