Saving you from going to Chicago…

Posted: March 7, 2008 in Church Leadership, Random

I went to Chicago a couple weeks ago to a multi-site practicum (conference).  In oder to save you the money it would take to get there and the money to register for the conference, here are my top takeaways…

  • “Leaders like it big, people like it small.”
  • “Events will get you volunteers.” “Small groups will get you leaders.”
  • “People need to two things to stick…a relationship and a responsibility.”
  • “Treat them like they are Christians until they realize that they are not.”
  • “Decision are not so much made, but they become apparent.”
  • “Communicate the vision in the context of how God is already working.”
  • “Use Stump Speeches – have a caned speech for leaders to give why we are going multi-site…and everything else for that matter. “
