Abuse or Freedom?

In the good old USA we have many freedoms. Some of them we take for granted, others we take advantage of as often as possible. Unfortunately for some the freedom of free speech motivates them to stretch to truth or make statements that they obviously can’t live up to. Maybe you have heard someone say, “World Famous Bar-B-Q.” Maybe you bought something and heard from the salesmen that “they guarantee she will love it.” Where is the penalty for lying when the shirt makes her cry because it makes her butt look fat?

At Oak Leaf Church we annoy our volunteers, staff, and sometimes ourselves when we follow-through on our core value of excellence. It means that we can’t skimp, take shortcuts, or do things the cheap way. It’s the right thing to do and it means that we constantly have to do checkups on what we put in front of our church, because we have said and believe in excellence.

As I drove through my wife’s hometown I noticed a humorous instance of people making a similar claim, but falling a little short.

See what you think…
