Where have all the good people gone?

I propose lots of ideas during our Monday creative planning sessions.  That’s our meeting to evaluate how the previous Sunday went and how the next one is suppose to go.  Usually, we tweak something, question a song choice, make fun of someone who said something goofy on stage, or have another slight criticism.

A couple weeks ago I proposed a topic for sermon series called “Old School Values” or “Kicking It Old School” or “Where is Mrs. Cleaver?”  Basically, I was saying we should talk through what old school family values and talk about the ramifications of them no longer being highly esteemed.

Maybe you haven’t noticed, but things that would drive our parents crazy don’t bother us in the slightest.  Our culture dictates a lot of the changes, but it really is a matter of apathy when you think about it.  Anything that you really want you make sure you find a way to get.  If you haven’t had a meal, you find a way to eat.  If you have a toothache you make an appointment to the dentist.  You probably get my drift…if you we value loyalty, respect, truth, hard work, and high conduct we would model it ourselves and take nothing less from the people we come in contact with.

To be continued…
